Retail/Sales Person
Seeking a friendly, outgoing person who loves sharing their enthusiasm about skeletons, taxidermy, anatomy, and obscure books. This position will involve speaking at length about these highly specialized areas of interest. Knowledge of art, art history, and science or an eagerness to learn are absolutely necessary..

In addition you must have:
  • 2+ years retail experience.
  • great GREAT customer service skills.
  • a flexible schedule.
  • willingness to commit 3-4 days a week - including nights and weekends!
  • experience running registers and POS systems.
The Morbid Anatomy Museum seeks experienced baristas for its new café. Located in Gowanus and opening in May 2014, the café will serve Museum patrons and community members during regular operating hours and some Museum public lectures and events.

Qualified applicants will be familiar with espresso preparation and have previous front-of-house food service experience. An interest in specialty coffee and industry best practices is a plus, as are a flexible schedule and a food protection certificate. Training will be provided to help build your skills and develop your craft.

The individual will be responsible for developing and implementing the development strategy for The Museum. This is a part time job.

Responsibilities include:
  • Help create and implement annual development plan and strategy 
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with current and potential corporate & foundation sponsors, and individual donors 
  • Help develop and grow our individual donor base; manage annual giving campaign; cultivate major gifts
  • Prior experience a plus
  • Detail oriented
