Spiritism and Medicine! Talks at Greenwood Cemetery! Search for the Sacred Heart of Jesus! Upcoming Morbid Anatomy Events

We have a tons of very exciting events to announce this week at Morbid Anatomy!

First up, tonight is My Grandfather the Spirit Doctor and Me: On Medicine, Storytelling, Film and The Radio Illustrated Lecture with Chiara Ambrosio, London Based Filmmaker (Monday, June 22nd; tickets and more here). Tomorrow we have two events; at the museum, the sold out Desire for Dramaticism: Semiotics of the 1980s Goth Subculture: An illustrated lecture with Andi Harriman and in Greenwood Cemetery's historical chapel, Common Shade: Catherine Gallant on Isadora Duncan’s Dances of Mourning (Tuesday, June 23rd; Ticket and more here).

Following, we have Search for the Sacred Heart of Jesus, An Illustrated Lecture with Peter Nevramont (Wednesday, June 24th; Tickets and more info here) and three sold out events: Dilettanti Society Happy Hour Presented by Art in the Age With Special Guest Evan Michelson; "Witchcraft Through the Ages” (Haxan) 16mm silent film screening with Victrola!!! Presented and choreographed by Joel Schlemowitz; and H.P Lovecraft Brooklyn Guided Tour with Jane Rose. Other newly announced events include Morbidly Drawn Anatomy: A Night of Drawing and Drinking (Monday, July 13th; Tickets and more here); Anthropomorphic Insect Shadowbox Workshop with Daisy Tainton (Sunday, August 9th; Tickets and more here. ) and "Spirit of the Magpie: Hidden Keys to the Scavenger's Scrapbook" An audiovisual trance journey with stopmotion animation and improvised sound (Wednesday, November 18th; Tickets and more here).

We also very much hope to see you at our one year anniversary which we'll celebrate with a "Festival of Arcane Knowledge" on Saturday July 18. This will feature MC Evan Michelson of TV's Oddities and short talks by Harold Schechter; Dr. Neal Goldsmith; and Douglas Rushkoff as well as a show and tell featuring a real Egyptian mummy head with Mike Zohn of TV's Oddities; a taxidermy demonstration by taxidermist in residence Katie Innamorato. Following will by a Devil's Masquerade afterparty and costume contest with prizes! Full line up and more information can be found here.
