Vintage Mortician Photos?
Morbid Anatomy reader Aeron Alfrey sent along these wonderful photographs, which he described as "Vintage Mortician Photos." Looking at the photos, it seems to me that they are probably medical students with their cadavers rather than morticians in training, due to the level of dissection we see in the images. Nevertheless, they are lovely. He originally found them here.
Thanks, Aeron!

Yes, it seems more medical students. Any idea of when and where these photos were taken?

Hi there.
Not sure when the photos were taken or where, but am guessing the 1930s from the hairstyles. Perhaps Aaron might know?
Hello, glad you enjoyed the pics. Unfortunately the only related information attached to the pictures was the subject line of Old B&W Autopsy Images. And while Ogrish requires you to sign up (for free) to access their forums, I encourage anyone to do so since there is a great collection of some of the most grotesque photographs, and video files, you're likely to ever see. But of course, not for the faint of heart.
There are some excellent scans of a forensic photography book titled "All Flowers Bloom In Red" in this thread - http://www.ogrishforum.com/showthread.php?t=18315
Unfortunately, Ogrish is not accepting new users at the moment
:-(
The fifth picture is Victorian era. Note the pre-electricity gas lighting fixtures in the upper left.
There is a nice selection of these cool photos at www.thanatos.net
